Lora Allison, Co-Founder and President of Great Host Ministries International and

Lora has ministered in over forty-five nations as well as teaching extensively across the United States. Ashford Community Church & LBN will be going to Youth Summer Camp on July 10th-July 13th at the Discovery Camp: https://discoverycamp.org/faqs/, 1423 County Road 101 Columbus, Texas 78934, Phone: (800) 714-2267.
Students can be dropped off at Ashford Community Church at 1:00pm on July 10th and we will depart for the one-hour drive at 1:30pm. We will be returning at 11:00am on July 13th and students can be picked up between 12:00-12:30pm at ACC. Registration for each student is $150. Each Student interested in attending camp will need to provide a $25 deposit by June 11th in order to attend Camp. This cost will cover transportation, room and board, meals at the camp, and all camp activities besides the specific non included activities listed on the website FAQ page. Students can bring their own spending money but they will be responsible for keeping up with it and the church, the camp, and the counselors are not responsible for any lost money or items. Please do not bring tablets, laptops, or any expensive items to camp. There will not be a place to store these safely. All students will be staying in separate male and female dorms with their camp counselors. There will be planned activities, church and worship services, and free time for the students each day. We will be watching the critically acclaimed documentary "Reparando" on Saturday April 1st at 7:00pm. A documentary on Guatemala’s struggle to repair itself and its people following a 36-year civil war. On the morning of June 18. 1954, the US CIA dropped leaflets in Guatemala City demanding the resignation of the president. Guatemala was ravaged by Civil War for the next 36 years. But hope is rising. In the midst of incredible odds, victims have been transformed into champions who willfully embrace the pain of their past to help repair the next generation. This is their story. Shorty – a former gang member who is now a pastor, and Tita – a woman who started a school in Guatemala’s most notorious slum have joined forces to repair La Limonada.
Following the movie we will be skyping "Shorty" and hearing his stories from the journey first hand.

Shane is from Charleston, SC (USA), and has been in full-time ministry for 20 years. He began working in full-time ministry as a youth pastor of a small church. Since that time, Shane has held multiple pastoral positions at various sized churches. Shane now ministers full time in America and internationally, particularly in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. With degrees in both clinical psychology and theology, Shane is known for being an informative, brilliant and humorous communicator.
Shane is mentored by a pastor with rabbinical training, and teaches the context of the Scriptures from a Hebraic perspective. This perspective helps people to see God's Word in a completely new way and leads them into a more intimate relationship with the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
